Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said the country is in crisis over Rohingya issue. Being in such a situation, BNP chairperson is staying in London paying no heed to the crisis of the country.
"BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is staying in London while BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is throwing stones in the dark and doing politics over Rohingya issue," he said.
The minister came up with the remarks while inaugurating Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community, at Gol Dhighir Par in the district town.
"Rather BNP is doing politics over Rohingya issue. One month has elapsed since the Rohingyas started entering the country amid persecution in Myanmar but BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir didn't come here to visit the Rohingyas," he said.
"Hindu goddess Durga had won fighting against the power of evil forces and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is also fighting against the evil forces, and we hope she'll be successful in the fight," said the minister.
