The prices of most of the share at the country's twin bourse - Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - witnessed gain in the early hour of trading on Monday, after Sunday's closure for holy Ashura.
After first one hour of trading, DSEX, the benchmark index of DSE, advanced 9.68 points or 0.15 percent to reach 6,102.52 at 11:49 am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also rose 9.41 points or 0.43 percent to stand at 2,187.03 points.
But the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 3.55 points or 0.004 percent to stand at 1,345.80.
Trade deals stood at 54,944 with volume of transactions at Tk 3,118 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 90 advanced, 162 declined and 42 remained unchanged.
Apollo Ispat was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 185.29 million changing hands till then followed by BBS Cables, IFAD Autos and Keya Cosmetics.
Of the issues traded till then, 119 advanced, 100 declined and 37 remained unchanged.
CSCX, the key index of the port city bourse, climbed 32.08 points to reach 11,444.73 also at 11:50 am.
