Key share price indices at the country's twin bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) --witnessed gain on Thursday, last trading session of the week.
After first one hour of trading, the DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 17.38 points or 0.28 percent to 6,177.34 at 11:49 am.
The two other indices also edged higher. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also advanced 3.83 points or 0.17 percent to stand at 2,194.29 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went up by 1.52 points or 0.11 percent to 1,345.65.
Of the issues traded, 151 gained, 107 declined and 51 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 3,484.80 million changed hands till then at the DSE at 11:53 pm, riding on aamra networks and Uttara Bank.
aamra networks limited was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 224:34 million changing hands followed by Uttara Bank, BBS Cables and Exim Bank.
The port city bourse - Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - also witnessed an upward trend in the early hour with its Selective Category Index gaining 23.90 points to 11,612 at 11:46 am.
Of the issues 170 traded till then, 88 gained, 56 declined and 26 remained unchanged with turnover value of Tk 139.70 million.
