Daffodil International University student hacked dead in city

A student of Daffodil International University (DIU) was stabbed to death reportedly by a gang of muggers at Tikatuli in the city on Sunday morning.

 

The deceased was identified as Abu Talha, 22, son of Nuruddin, a 2nd year student of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department of DIU. He was the resident of KM Das Lane of Tikatuli.

 

Witnesses said a group of muggers waylaid Talha at KM Das Lane and tried to snatch away his mobile phone and wallet,UNB reports.

 

As Talha tired to resist the incident, the hoodlums stabbed him indiscriminately with sharp weapons around 6:30 am, leaving the DIU student injured severely.

 

Later, Talha was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where he succumbed to his injuries around 8:30 am, said DMCH Police Camp in-charge sub-inspector Bacchu Miah.
