A Bangladeshi worker was killed and two of his compatriots were critically injured when dormant World War II-era bomb went off at the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station construction site in Bandar Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.
Quoting Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Amar Singh Ishar Singh, Malaysian national news agency Bernama reported that an old bomb from the Second World War suddenly exploded when construction works were being carried out on Tuesday evening.
In the incident at about 5pm, three Bangladeshi workers were seriously injured and two of them lost their legs while another suffered injuries on the hands and legs.
The injureds were rushed to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment, where one of them succumbed to his injuries later in the night, Police Chief added.
However, the identities of the victims could not be confirmed yet.
