Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim on Thursday urged the Muslim countries across the world to get united to exert pressure on the Myanmar government to take back Rohingyas immediately.
He made the call during a meeting with the visiting Iranian Deputy Minister for Health Sayed Hadi Ayazi and Iran Red crescent Society Chairman Ali Asghar Payvandi at his ministry in the capital.
Nasim called upon Ayazi to create pressure on Myanmar so that it takes back Rohingyas from Bangladesh at the earliest.
During the meeting, the health minister said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina haf shown humanity towards fleeing Rohingyas.
“We are trying our best to provide food, shelter and healthcare service to them,” he said.
“But, it would be difficult for Bangladesh to give shelter to six lakh Rohingyas for a long time. The Myanmar government should take back them from Bangladesh as early as possible,” he stated.
