Two accused in the case filed for killing Jebonnesa Mini Chowdhury, wife of former chairman of Raninagar upazila KC Mashiur Rahman Bachchu Chawdhury, confessed to a court in Naogaon their involvement in the murder.
The duo -- Chanchal, 19, son of Firoz of Antahar village and Sohag, 21, son of late Abdus Salam of the same village in Adamdighi upazila of Bogra -- gave their confessional statements before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate in Naogaon on Sunday, police said.
Earlier, the two key accused were arrested from their respective houses in Adamdighi upazila early Sunday, said officer-in-charge of Naogaon Sadar Police Station Tarikul Islam.
Of the accused, Chanchal, a painter, completed the painting work of the house of the victim on December 2.
On December 6, Chanchal and his friend Sohag slaughtered Jebonnesa, 55, at her house at Post Office para in the district town, according to confessional statement.
Police recovered a pair of shoes and sharp weapons from the crime scene, he added.
