Bus crushes four autorickshaw passengers, driver to death in Sirajganj

Five people, including a couple, have been killed in a road accident at Baghabari Bus Stand in Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj, UNB reports.

 

The deceased were identified as Sirajul Islam, 30, and his wife Arifa, 25, residents of Santhia upazila, Abdur Razzak, 42, of Faridpur upazila, Shamim, 50, of Bera upazila of Pabna district, and Towhidul Islam, 35, hailing from Shahjadpur upazila.

 

Police said the accident took place when a Dhaka-bound bus of 'Tisha Paribahan' drove into a parked CNG-run auto-rickshaw in the area around 11:30 am on Sunday, leaving four passengers of the three-wheeler dead on the spot and its driver Shamim injured.

 

Later, Shamin was taken to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead, said sub-inspector of Shahjadpur Police Station Motaleb.
