A two-week long art exhibition by artist Gopal Chandra Saha will begin at EMK Center in the capital from January 13.
The exhibition titled “Oporoop” featuring South Asian Oriental Art with a flavour of Western element.The exhibition will continue till January 25.
We hope that his work will captivate everyone, providing a wide palate of Oriental Art for all to perceive, said the organiser.
Gopal Chandra Saha is an alumnus of the Faculty of Fine Art – University of Dhaka also known as “Charukola”. Since childhood he had observed his family drawing pictures from which he found his foremost inspiration. Being exposed to many Hindu rituals, oriental architecture and sculptures, Gopal Saha easily incorporated himself into the study Oriental Art. A wide range of works including those of El Greco, Paul Cezanne and Pablo Picasso kindled an inspiration in him. He also found motivation from the East starting from the brilliance of Zainul Abedin, Gaganendranath Tagone, Abanindranath Tagore and Rabindranath Tagore.
The exhibition will open with an inauguration ceremony on January 13, 2017 at 5:30 PM.
