Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd thrashed Team BJMC by 2-1 goals in their second outing of Independence Cup 2018 at Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital on Friday.

In the first half, Sheikh Russel went on the offence from the start of the match.
Both the teams went toe to toe in the first half but Sheikh Russel brilliance was not enough to down the defence of the man of Arif Khan Joy.

Team BJMC started the second half with some brilliant counter attack, but could not benefit from the lapse in Russel defence.

Nayon put Sheikh Russel KC ahead in the 80th minute (1-0) after a barren first half while Robin leveled the margin for BJMC in the 87th minute from a penalty (1-1).
It seemed the match would go down in the books as a hard fought draw but a miracle was in the making as Sabuj scored the match-winning goal for Sheikh Russel KC in the stoppage time of the match in the 94th minute.The match winning goal sealed the deal for Russel and crushed the hopes for BJMC.
Only one match is scheduled to be held in the prime football tournament as Muktijoddha Sangsad KC will take on Brothers Union Ltd at 4:00pm.
