The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw positive trend in early hours of trading on Monday as enthusiastic investors are on buying spree.
After first one hour of trading, the key index of the country's major bourse gained 46.88 points up while the Selective Category Index of the port city bourse rose 78.21 points.
DSEX, the benchmark index of DSE, rose over 46.88 points or 0.76 percent to 6,194 at 11:44 am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also gained 18.39 points or 0.81 percent to stand at 2,278.97 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 13.47 points or 0.95 percent to stand at 1,423.
Trade deals stood at 28,084 with volume of transactions at Tk 1,532.72 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 174 advanced, 70 declined and 52 remained unchanged.
Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 202.33 million changing hands till then followed by IFAD Autos (152.79 million), Grameenphone (Tk 63 million), Golden Harvest Agro Industries (Tk 49 million), National Tubes (Tk 42 million).
The port city bourse - Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) - also witnessed upward trend in early hours with its Selective Category Index gaining 78.21 points to 11,519 also at 11:49 am.
Of the issues traded till then, 76 gained, 37 declined and 33 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 75 million.
