Director General (Administration) of Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Kabir-Bin-Anwar in Khulna on Monday said the present government is working to develop Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector for digital economy to grow, reports BSS.
He was speaking as chief guest while inaugurating the three-day digital innovation fair-2018 at the Khulna Circuit House Ground in the city.
The main aim of the fair is to make people aware about e-technologies, e-services and reach government services to the people's doorstep, he added.
He said with a view to building digital Bangladesh by 2021, the government will organise such fairs at division and district levels step by step.
A lot of changes have taken place at every sector including economy, education and communication during the tenure of the present government, he said adding Bangladesh is marching towards a middle income country by 2021.
Organised by Khulna Deputy Commissioner Office and a2i programme of Prime Minister's Office (PMO), deputy commissioner of Khulna Amin-ul-Ahsan presided over the function while Khulna divisional commissioner Lokman hossain Mia addressed as special guest.
Different government, non government organisations, educational institutions, banks and many youth innovators has set up a total of 75 stalls under five pavilions. The fair remains open for all from 3pm to 9pm every day.
Digital quiz competition, debate competition, training on free-lancing and outsourcing income through online, discussion on E-Agriculture, E-Education, video shows on digital animation and cultural programme will also be held at the fair venue.
