Raima Sen to be seen in a challenging role in Ashish Roy’s ‘Sitara’

After making her debut in 1999 with the Shabana Azmi starrer 'Godmother', Raima Sen has come a long way. Last seen in the Hindi film 'Vodka Diaries', which released in January, Raima is back in the thick of things after an uneventful 2017.

Raima had hinted earlier that she will be back to her roots in 2018, apart from her Bollywood ventures.

The first Bengali film that she has started working on in this year is Ashish Roy directorial 'Sitara' where Raima will be seen in a new look. The story of this film is based in the region of the India-Bangladesh border and the illegal garments business in the area. The garments from Bangladesh illegally enter India from West Bengal border via Sealdah through many channels and distributed all over the country.

The movie is inspired by Abul Bashar's 'Bhorer Prosuti'. The shooting has already started from February 5 in the border area of Jalpaiguri and Cooch Behar district of West Bengal. Raima features in the lead role in 'Sitara'. Bangladeshi actor F.R. Babu will be seen as her on-screen husband. South Indian actor M. Nasser, who played the role of Shivgami Devi's husband in 'Baahubali' films, has an interesting role in this film. Bollywood actress Meghna Naidu will also be seen in an important role, reports TNN.

Apart from 'Sitara', Raima's next Bengali film 'Kaya', a horror-thriller, is scheduled to release on February 23, 2018. She has two other projects in hand namely 'Tarikh' and 'Subho Nababarsha'.
