State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Tuesday said Bangladesh is moving fast towards achieving the goal of cent percent electrification thanks to some special development plans taken in the power sector.
"The present pro-development government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken huge plans in developing the power sector and implementing those. It has started the construction of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant and Rampal Power Plant. We are also importing power from abroad to meet the local demand as we are committed to reach power to every household," he said.
The state minister made the statements while addressing a rally on the occasion of giving new power connections to 155 households in the villages of Aftabnagar and Sardanagar under Singra Upazila of the district.
Presided over by Chatardighi union Awami League acting president Shajahan Ali, the rally was also addressed by Singra upazilla Awami League president advocate Ohidur Rahman Sheikh and Chatardighi union parishad chairman Altaf Hossain Akanda, among others.
