Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya on Wednesday said the Myanmar authorities should take back soon the Rohingyas who were forced to leave their homeland.
"I urge the world community to mount pressure on the Myanmar government to take back the Rohingyas as soon as possible," he said at a function at a Rohingya camp at Cox's Bazar, said an official release in Dhaka.
The minister distributed relief goods among the Rohingya people. The Indonesian government has sent the relief - 2,000 tons of rice.
Secretary of the ministry Md Shah Kamal, Rohingya Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Abul Kalam Azad, local Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Ali, Rohingya Cell Chief of the ministry Habibul Kabir Chowdhury, Cyclone Preparedness Programme Director Ahamedul Haque and representatives of the Indonesian government were present in the relief distribution programme.
Maya urged the world community to come forward to resolve the Rohingya crisis.
