2-day International Literature Conference to begin in city Thursday

As part of the month-long Amar Ekushey Book Fair, a two-day International Literature Conference will begin on the Bangla Academy premises on Thursday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the conference on the Bangla Academy premises on February 1 while opening the book fair, reports UNB.

Bangla Academy is organising the event to build a good bonding among the local and foreign writers, poets, novelists as well as to create a platform to exchange their literary works.

Some 15 poets from eight countries will be present at the conference.

Alongside, Bangla Academy’s “Syed Waliullah Award 2017’’ will be conferred on expatriate poets Masud Khan living in Canada and Mujib Irm living in the UK on the opening day.

The first edition of International Literature Conference was held on February 2-4 last year when popular and reputed poets and writers from eight countries of the world joined it.
