The rail communications between Sylhet and the rest of the country resumed on Friday afternoon after a 16-hour of disruption following derailment of 11 bogies of a train in Santgaon station of Srimangal upazila in Moulvibazar district.
The rail links restored around 4:30pm after the derailed compartments of Upaban Express have been salvaged, said Srimangal Railway Station master Md Shakhawat Hossain.
The bogies of ‘Upaban Express’ veered off the tracks around 12:50am, disrupting train movement between Sylhet and the rest of the country.
