The prices of most of the shares on both bourses - Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - witnessed upward trend in early hour of trading on Wednesday.
After first one hour of trading, the DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 40.09 points or 0.69 percent to 5,838.52 at 11:53 am.
The two other indices at DSE also edged higher till then. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went up by 10.27 points or 0.75 percent to 1,366.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also advanced 14.20 points or 0.66 percent to stand at 2,155 points.
Of the issues traded, 213 gained, 47 declined and 43 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 1,405.74 million changed hands till then at the DSE.
IFAD Autos Limited was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 111.40 million changing hands followed by Nahee Aluminum Composite Panel, BBS Cables, LankaBangla Finance and Pharma Aids.
The port city bourse - Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) - also witnessed an upward trend in the early with its Selective Category Index gaining 44.68 points to 10,873.62 at 11:53 am.
Of the issues 139 traded till then, 85 gained, 31 declined and 23 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 58.68 million.
