Pata Painting exhibition 'Chitra Pote Bangabandhu' begins

 

A ten-day long solo Pata Painting exhibition titled 'Chitra Pate Bangabandhu' of Patua Nazir Hossain will begin today (Friday) at the Bangladesh National Museum.

 

The inauguration ceremony of the 32nd solo Pata Painting (patachitra) exhibition will be held at the gallery of the second floor of the national museum at 5pm.

 

Prominent artiste Hashem Khan will be present as the chief guest while poet and filmmaker Dildar Hossain will attend the ceremony as the special guest.

 

Architect Robiul Hossain will preside over the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

 

Pata Painting (patachitra) is a traditional art form characterised by religious and social motifs and imageries. Pata is a Bangla word evolved from the Sanskrit patta meaning cloth.

 

The exclusive exhibition will end on March 11, reports UNB.
