International Watercolor Society-Bangladesh (IWSB) is going to organise a four-day-long festival ‘1st international Watercolor Biennale 2018’ on Tuesday (March 06).
The festival will be held at National Art Gallery of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
The biennale will feature the country’s biggest watercolor exhibition titled ‘Waves of Colors’ where artworks of more than 500 artists from home and abroad will be displayed.
Besides the exhibition, demonstration, artist talk and art camp will also be arranged as part of the festival.
Meanwhile, a total of 26 artists will be awarded on 12 categories including lifetime achievement award.
Artist Alokesh Ghosh, one of the pioneering water-color artists in Bangladesh will be accorded with lifetime achievement award.
Artist Samarjit Roy Chowdhury, Hamiduzzaman Khan, artist Shohag Parvez and Mintu Dey (the coordinator of IWSB) were on the jury panel.
International Watercolor Society (IWS) is one of the largest and most diverse groups for water-color artists and art lovers.
They regularly organise events and exhibitions in different parts of the world. The biennale is a part of regular activities of the society in Bangladesh.
Renowned and young water-color artists of Bangladesh will participate in the biennale.
International Watercolor Society has been providing a great platform for the continual development, learning, and passing of the art of water-color since 2012.
