Bomb attack by rivals leaves one dead in Chapainawabganj

A man was killed and two others sustained injuries as rivals hurled bombs towards them following enmity over establishing supremacy at Bagdanga in Sadar upazila of Chapainawabganj on Saturday morning, UNB reports.

The deceased was identified as Ayub Ali, son of Naimuddin of the same village.

Police and witnesses said there was a longstanding dispute between Alam group and Babu Master group over establishing supremacy in the village.

As a sequel to the enmity, a series of clashes took place between the two groups since Friday night.

Rivals hurled bomb towards some supporters of Bubu Master when they went to local Madrasa hat around 6 pm, leaving three people, including Ayub Ali, injured, said Manjur Rahman, Officer-in-charge of Sadar police station.

The injured were admitted to District Sadar Hospital where doctors declared Ayub dead.
