Director General of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Abul Kalam Azad on Thursday said action will be taken if any caesarian is done unnecessarily.
He came up with the warning while speaking at a press conference at the secretariat marking the World Health Day that falls on April 7.
Terming unnecessary caesarian an unethical practice, he vowed to end such ill practice that has been conducting for only making money. He also mentioned that the rate of caesarian has marked a sharp rise in the country in recent time.
Abul Kalam Azad told that they will introduce a system so that no caesarian section is done without necessity. In this system a form has to be filled up before the operation.
“The form will be analysed to be sure whether information provided in it is authentic,” he said, adding that they will take whatever action is needed against unnecessary caesarian.
State Minister for Health Zahid Maleque was present at the press conference.
