Driver’s aide loses arm to reckless driving in Gopalganj

Assistant of a bus driver has lost his arm to reckless driving this time.

 

The incident happened when a speedy truck tried to overtake a passenger bus on Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Gopalganj sadar upazila on Tuesday noon.

 

The victim has been identified as Hridoy Minar, 30, son of Rabiul Minar.

 

Confirming the accident, officer-in-charge (OC) of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station Monirul Islam said a speedy truck hit a Gopalganj-bound passenger bus while trying to overtake the bus.

 

Later, a unit of fire service rushed to the spot and sent the injured to Gopalganj General Hospital.

 

Victim Hridoy Minar is being shifted to Dhaka for better treatment.

 

Earlier on April 3, Rajib Hossain, a third-year student of Government Titumir College, lost his right hand after it got stuck between two speeding buses trying to overtake each other in the capital's Bangla Motor area.

 

Soon after the accident, he was taken to Samorita Hospital in Panthapath and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

 

He had been placed on life support for last seven days as he began experiencing difficulty while breathing at the ICU around 4am on April 10 (Tuesday).

 

Rajib succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) early Tuesday.
