Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif on Monday said BNP is spreading falsehood over the Khulna City Corporation (KCC) polls as the party has become politically bankrupt, reports BSS.
"BNP is now making nonsense over Khulna City Corporation polls as it has become politically bankrupt," he said while exchanging views with party leaders and workers at his PTI road residence in the district town.
Hanif said people of the country do not want to see BNP in power again because of their corruption and wrongdoings.
"People want to cast their votes in favour of Awami League candidate Talukder Abdul Khaleque for the sake of country's development," he added.
District AL President Sadar Uddin Khan, Education Affairs Secretary Amjad Hossain Raju and local AL leader Salahuddin Tareq were present on the occasion, among others.
Hanif also distributed stipends among students at a function at Kushtia Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the morning.
He joined a memorial meeting on former district AL vice-president Julfiqar Ali Arju on Kushtia Public Library ground at 3pm.
