Bangladesh women’s cricket team finished their tour of South Africa (SA) with 0-3 loss in T20Is and 0-5 loss in ODIs against the host side.
Bangladesh’s overseas campaign ended up against South Africa with 23-run loss in the 3rd T20I at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein on Sunday.
The visiting side lost the 1st T20I of the series by 17 runs at Diamond Oval before a 32-run loss in the second match Bloemfontein.
The 0-5 ODI sweep ended with a six-wicket defeat in the last game after a 154-run defeat in the 4th game and nine-wicket defeats in each 3rd and 2nd games, starting the campaign with a 106-run loss.
In the day’s curtailed nine-over-a-side match, chasing a target of 65 runs, Bangladesh finished the innings on 41 for 6 in 9 overs where opener Shamima Sultana[12 off 17b] and Fahima Khatun [10* off 10b] were the double digit scorers.
Player of the match Ayabonga Khaka [3/10], Marizanne Kapp [2/8] and Raisibe Ntozakhe [1/10] shared six wickets for the winning team.
Sent in to bat first, SA Women posted 64 for 4 in 9 overs with Tazmin Brits [29 off 22b; 3x4] and skipper Dane van Niekerk [12 off 10b; 1x6] scoring double digit for the side.
Salma Khatun [2/18] and Rumana Ahmed [1/13] were the wicket takers for Bangladesh.
Pace bowler Shabnim Ismail, who got five wickets for 53 runs in 10 overs in three T20Is for the host side, was adjudged player of the series.
The Tigresses’ are scheduled to depart for home on Monday (May 21).
