BAF holds successful air missile exercise in Cox’s Bazar

A successful test of surface to air missile firing exercise of Bangladesh Air Force was held at VGD-29 in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar on Saturday.

Test firing of newly procured air defence missile system FM-90 including missile firing of earlier version of FM-90 SHORAD system were held in the exercise. In both exercises, the fired missiles hit the two targeted drones successfully.

Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations) Air Vice Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat along with other senior officials was present on the occasion and witnessed the successful fire of FM-90 SHORAD system. Besides, senior officers from Bangladesh Army and Navy were also present there.

It is one of the BAF modernization processes under the step of implementing Forces Goal-2030.

It may be mentioned that FM-90 is a sophisticated advanced all weather short range air defence system of modern time which has a higher rate of single shot target hitting probability. This missile has the capability to shot down aircraft, drones and cruise missile.
