Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has warned rank and file of the party to stop the infiltration of people from other parties to bolster their strength within the party.

 

"It was seen that attempts were made to increase muscle power by dragging in BNP-Jamaat men and goons into the party," she said and warned, "Do not induct such garbage into the party."

 

The prime minister was addressing the special extended meeting of  Awami League grass-roots leaders on the occasion of the party’s 69th founding anniversary at Ganabhaban today (Saturday).

 

Earlier, the Awami League chief said she gets courage from countrymen and Awami League (AL) grass-roots leaders.

 

“After I lost my family members in 1975, Awami League has become my family,” she said.

 

 Earliar on the day, she inaugurated a 10-storey new central office of the ruling AL on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital.
