A suspected drug trader was killed and another injured in a 'gunfight' with police at Chowka in Shibganj upazila early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Kaiyum, 28, son of Abdul Kuddus while the injured was Firoz, 38, son of late Kalimuddin, residents of Chowka village.

During their drive, a gang of drug traders opened fire on police from the house of Firoz, prompting them to fire back that triggered a gun battle.
