Ranveer Singh, the energetic Bollywood actor, is all set to play legendary cricket player Kapil Dev in the latter’s biopic based on the iconic win of India at the 1983 World Cup. Kapil Dev was the captain of the winning Indian team.
Initially, the film was to be released in August 2019 but the makers have now come up with a new release date of the film.
The official handle of the film declared the release date on Thursday (July 5). The post read: “Relive the historic glory when 15 minions from India ruled over the mammoths of world cricket. Film releases on April 10, 2020.”
The film follows how under the captaincy of Kapil Dev, the Indian cricket team defeated West Indies in the final of the 1983 World Cup. It tracks the coming of age of not just a cricketing team, but of a young nation in the eyes of the world.
