Jahangirnagar University (JU) Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Nurul Alam today expressed shock at the death of Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder and valiant freedom fighter Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury.

In a condolence message, the VC recalled the glorious career of Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury.

'We have lost a true patriot at the death of Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury. The nation will always remember his contribution to the great liberation war and in the medical sector of Bangladesh,' the VC said 

Dr Nurul Alam prayed for the eternal peace of his departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury died at Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital at Dhanmondi in the capital on Tuesday night. He was 81.
