The Election Commission (EC) has withheld the gazette notification of the results of by-elections to Lakshmipur-3 and Brahmanbaria-2 due to allegations of irregularities.

The EC will investigate the allegations and a decision will be taken on the basis of the probe report, said EC Secretary Md. Jahangir while talking to reporters at Nirbachan Bhaban in city's Agargaon this afternoon.

The voting was held in the two constituencies on Sunday last.
