Bangladesh Supreme Party (BSP) Chairman Syed Saifuddin Ahmed Maizbhandari has been honored with the Mahatma Gandhi Peace Award 2023 for his praiseworthy contribution to the field of global peace and communal harmony.

The India-based 'South Asian Social Cultural Council' announced the award during an event held at India’s Rabindra Varati University recently, said a press release here on Tuesday.

Representatives of the organisation handed over the award to Saifuddin Ahmed at his office in Dhaka on 14 January.
Syed Saifuddin Ahmed Al Hasani is known for his humanitarian works in different sectors, the release added.

He participated in many international conferences worldwide including 'The Millennium World Peace Summit for Religious & Spiritual Leaders' in 2000 at the United Nations headquarters.
