Ashraful made chief town planner of Rajuk

Md Ashraful Islam was made chief town planner of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) on Monday.

He is the second person to hold the post after planner Sirajul Islam in the history of Rajuk.

The decision was taken in the latest general meeting of the capital development body held on 22 January, said an office order of the Rajuk.

The order also said he was posted in the current charge of the chief town planner; he will serve as the chief town planner until further instruction is issued by the authorities concerned.

Ashraf joined the Rajuk in 2008 as an assistant town planner and was promoted to town planner in 2018, and he has been playing the role since then.

It is to be noted that Ashraful was the project director of the Detailed Area Plan (DAP) for the Dhaka (2016-35) Project of Rajuk.
