HSBC, Maersk Bangladesh collaborate to digitalise freight collections

The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd (HSBC) and Maersk Bangladesh Ltd, one of the leading companies in the shipping industry, have collaborated to digitalise their freight collection via the state-of-the-art Omni Collect solution of HSBC.
The signing ceremony held recently, is a significant step towards digitising the collection process in Maersk Bangladesh Ltd, read a press release.
Amor Bin Nasir, Head of Finance and Accounting, Maersk Bangladesh, and Newaz Musharraf, Country Head of Global Payments Solutions, HSBC Bangladesh, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Manoj Dugar, Regional Co-Head Global Payments Solutions, along with other distinguished officials from both organisations attended the ceremony, highlighting the commitment toward digitalisation.
This collaboration enables Maersk Bangladesh to receive their freight charge through digital channels into their HSBC accounts along with detailed reports of the collected amounts via internet banking.
Commenting on this solution, Amor Bin Nasir said, “Digitisation has always been important for Maersk Bangladesh Ltd. HSBC’s Omni Collect Solution will provide Maersk’s customers options to make payments via Credit Cards, Debit Card, Mobile Financial Service (MFS) and Bank Transfers.”
Manoj Dugar said, “Omni Collect will support Maersk’s collection against sales through digital channels along with detailed reports of the collected amounts via online banking platforms. We will continue to digitise at scale and help clients to build smarter business with a simpler and better-informed customer experience.”
