Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) councillor  Sahana Akhter, distributed clothes and food items among the needy people to spread the joy of Eid Fitr among them.

The gift items including 5 kg of rice, 1 kg of pulses, 2 kg of oil, 1 kg of sugar and 1 kg of dates were distributed among 1500 people and cloth items clothes, lungi, saree and three pieces were distributed among  600 people Faridabad Lane, Haricharan Roy Road, Bahadurpur Lane, Lalmohan Poddar Lane, Gandaria, DIT Plot and Sahid Nagar area of the ward.

The gift items were distributed under the banner of Alhaj Saidur Rahman Shahid Foundation for the last three days.

Sahana Akhter said, "Every year we distribute relief items during fasting and Eid under the initiative of Alhaj Saidur Rahman Sahid Foundation. Fasting and Eid celebrations have become very difficult for low-income people due to the increase in commodity prices.

She also said, “Fasting and Eid celebrations have become very difficult for low-income people due to the increase in commodity prices. We are trying to ease people's suffering.”
