Police have released Hossain Mohammad Mayaz, son of former Jatiya Party lawmaker HM Golam Reza, upon receiving an undertaking in an incident where Mayaz unwittingly violated safety protocols by flying a surveillance drone at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) area on 15 April.

Mayaz, 28, flew his personal drone to capture videos and images of the large alpona that was painted on the Manik Mia Avenue in front of the National Parliament building marking the Bengali New Year 1431.

He did not take permission from relevant authorities before flying the drone, and did so mistakenly.

He has repented for his mistake. He should had have been more conscientious for the sake of security purposes, he added in the undertaking submitted to police.

He has pledged to abide by the law, and avoid performing such kind of acts in the future.
