Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) has described the proposed national budget for fiscal year 2024-25 as biased and corruption-friendly.
“People’s morality is consistently being destroyed by allowing corrupt persons to whiten their black money,” TIB Executive Director Iftekharuzzaman made the observation while talking to the media at a programme in Dhaka on Monday.
With a visionary target to control inflation, Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali unveiled a proposed national budget of Tk7.97 lakh crore for the fiscal year 2024-25 on 6 June.
Iftekharuzzaman, in his instant reaction, termed the provision of whitening black money in the proposed budget as ‘unethical’ and demanded its withdrawal.
