The RAJUK on Monday morning announced that 118 Ansar members will start performing security duties at Hatirjheel area in the capital with immediate effect.
Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) Chairman, General (retd) Md Siddikur Rahman, officially handed over the responsibility at the Hatirjheel Management Building.
Siddikur Rahman expressed confidence in the Ansar forces' ability to ensure security and maintain cleanliness in Hatirjheel, noting the previous team's lack of diligence.
Ansar officers will provide round-the-clock security, regularly monitor the area, and have a mobile team on patrol, he said, adding that plans are in place to repair roads and footpaths, fix broken lights, and increase greenery to enhance Hatirjheel's environment.
He also requested visitors to leave Hatirjheel after 11:00 pm for safety reasons.
Mentionable, a private agency was engaged in managing it earlier.
