The government will reopen primary schools on Sunday on a limited scale after a long break, following the evolving situation due to the student movement over quota reform issues.
However, the schools in 12 city corporations across the country and Narsingdi municipality will remain closed due to the prevailing volatile situation, said Farid Ahmed, secretary of the Primary and Mass Education Ministry, to the Daily Sun on Wednesday.
He said the decision was taken during a joint meeting of the Primary and Mass Education Ministry and the Directorate of Primary Education.
The District Primary Education Officers will adjust the learning schedules based on local conditions amid the curfew.
The government declared an indefinite closure of all government primary schools on July 16 due to the violence and evolving situation over the quota reform movement.
