Bangladesh clinch first ever SAFF U-20 champion’s title
Bangladesh now has won all age-specific football events in South Asia

The Bangladesh under-20 football team on Wednesday beat Nepal to win the country’s first ever SAFF U-20 championship title.
The lads, aged below 20 years, crushed their Nepali counterparts with a 4-1 victory at Nepal’s Laitpur Anfa complex. Mirajul Islam scored two goals, including the first one in the match, while Rabbi Hossain and Pias Ahmed scored one each.
With the win, the Bangladesh football team have won a championship in every specialised age category in the South Asia region.
The Bangladesh U-20 team reached the finals after beating India in the semi-finals at a 4-3 margin. In the previous edition of the biannual championship, Bangladesh lost to India in the finals by a 5-2 margin, and had to stay content with the runners-up status.
