An attempt-to-murder case was lodged against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 33 others with a Dhaka court on Monday.   

Abuzar Md Arman Ali Jewel filed the case with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Afnan Sumi’s court on Monday.  

Asfiq Ibn Arman Isa, an HSC examinee of Oxfordian Laboratory College received bullet injuries during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Banasree area of Dhaka on 19 July, his father Arman claimed in the case statement.    

The court asked the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to conduct an investigation into the case.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, former home minister Asduzzman Khan Kamal, former environment minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury, former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhary Abdullah Al Mamun, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman, former DB chief Harun-ur-Rashid, DMP joint commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarker, are also among the accused.
