Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen on Thursday called on newly appointed Foreign Secretary Md Jashim Uddin at the foreign ministry in Dhaka.

During the meeting, the two sides had in-depth exchanges of views on China-Bangladesh relations, pragmatic cooperation in various fields, and regional and international issues of common concern, the Chinese embassy said. 

They also discussed the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Bangladesh and China.
