President of the Workers Party of Bangladesh and former civil aviation and tourism minister Rashed Khan Menon has been placed on a three-day remand for attacking Mirza Abbas, National Standing Committee member of the BNP, during an election campaign in the city's Segunbagicha area in 2018.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubul Haque passed the order as the investigating officer of the case produced him before the court on Tuesday with a five-day remand prayer.
According to the case statement, on 15 December 2018, a gang of miscreants equipped with sticks, iron rods, sharp weapons, and crude bombs swooped on Mirza Abbas and some BNP leaders during the election campaign in front of Segunbagicha kitchen market, leaving them injured.
