Ex-food minister Sadhan Chandra arrested

Former food minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder has been arrested in Dhaka.
A team of the Detective Branch of police apprehended him in the Bhatara area, confirmed Dhaka Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner (DB) Rezaul Karim Mallick on Thursday.
The former minister has been accused in a number of cases, he added.
It could not be known immediately in which case he was shown arrested.
Sadhan Chandra was an Awami League lawmaker who was elected from the Naogaon-1 constituency four times – 2008, 2014, 2018, and 2024.
Many Awami League leaders have been arrested since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government on 5 August in the face of the student-led mass uprising.
