Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir has denied any involvement in the performance of Islamic songs at a puja mandap in Chattogram.

"False propaganda began circulating on social media on Thursday, 10 October, around 8pm, alleging Shibir's involvement in the incident at the JM Sen Hall during a Hindu community festival," according to a press release signed by Salauddin Akash, publicity secretary of Islami Chhatra Shibir's metropolitan north unit.

The release further clarified that Shibir had no connection to the incident.

Fakhrul Islam, president of Shibir’s Chattogram metropolitan north unit, along with Secretary Tanzir Hossain Jewel, condemned the spread of what they called "deliberate misinformation," read the release.
