Law enforcers arrested six people linked to a group of miscreants who, while posing as security personnel, allegedly robbed Tk 75 lakh and 70 bhoris of gold ornaments from an apartment of a building in Mohammadpur early Sunday.

Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, confirmed the arrests.

He refused to give any further details, saying more information would be shared later.

The incident occurred around 3:45am yesterday on the second floor of a five-storey building named "Abu Company Building" near the Tin Rasta intersection.

The building belongs to a businessman named Abu, said locals.

Officer-in-Charge of Mohammadpur Police Station Iftekhar Hasan said a robbery case was filed with the station in this connection.
