The joint forces arrested 45 suspected muggers, extortionists, and teen gang members from Dhaka Udyan, Chand Udyan, and Naboday Housing areas at Mohammadpur in the capital on Saturday night.

A press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relation Directorate (ISPR) revealed the matter on Sunday.

Members of the 46th Independent Infantry Brigade of the Bangladesh Army, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), and the police conducted raids and apprehended them along with nine sharp weapons from their possessions, read the release.

The raids were conducted amid growing incidents of mugging and other criminal activities in the areas, bringing a sigh of relief to the residents of the neighbourhoods.
