The current interim government is going to form five new commissions to carry out reforms in the areas of mass media, local government, health, labour rights, and women affairs.
These commissions are supposed to be formed by next Sunday.
After emerging from an advisory council meeting on Thursday, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan told reporters that the gazette notifications in this regard will be issued by next Sunday.
The adviser said there are five more new commissions to reform local government, mass media, women, healthcare and labour rights.
The advisory council also discussed crucial topics, emphasising the importance of monitoring to prevent overcharging and ensure timely project completion, she added.
The adviser also stated that the election must be held, but before that, various tasks, including preparing the voter list, must be completed.
Syeda Rizwana Hasan further noted that if a political party does not participate in the elections, it does not fall under the responsibility of the interim government.
She also said that the presidential issue was not discussed in the advisory council meeting but it is true that political consensus is needed on some issues.
Besides, the advisory council has decided to standardise government projects, with guidelines for the IMED department of the Ministry of Planning to be prepared.
