Fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has submitted a leave request to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for the upcoming West Indies tour in December.
Mustafiz, who has been away from Test cricket for some time, has asked for leave from the ODIs and T20Is to be with his wife, who is expecting their child.
Bangladesh's ODI series against Afghanistan is set to conclude on Monday, and Mustafiz will return to Dhaka on 13 November after the series.
Sources within BCB’s cricket operations department have confirmed that Mustafiz's leave request has been initially approved.
The majority of the Bangladesh squad will depart for the West Indies from Dubai, with Test cricketers Mominul Haque and Taijul Islam joining the team there.
The first Test of the West Indies tour is scheduled to begin on 22 November, followed by the second Test on 30 November. The ODI series will start on 8 December, with the T20 series beginning on 16 December.
