Film actor Arifin Shuvoo has returned to shooting after a few months’ break. But, not a film, the actor is back with the shooting of a Kolkata web series. It is known that he stood before the camera for the OTT project on Friday.

The title of the web series is “Jazz City” directed by Soumik Sen. Soumik was praised for co-created the series “Jubilee” with Vikramaditya Motwane. According to a Kolkata-based media, the series has been shooting for seven days. In the meantime, Arifin Shuvoo has joined the shooting of the Kolkata part.

Tollywood actor Sauraseni Maitra will be seen opposite Shuvoo in the series. Several other actors from Tollywood and Bollywood will also appear. The shooting of “Jazz City” will continue until February next year.

In the story of the series, a new club named “Jazz Club” is about to be built in the heart of Kolkata city. The time line is the 70s- when Western music was booming on Park Street due to the ‘club culture’.

Director Soumik Sen has recreated 1970s Kolkata on the shooting set. Songs in various languages, including English, will be used in the series. A jazz singer from Mumbai is also going to debut in the film.

“Jazz Club” will be released on the Indian OTT platform Sony Liv.

On the other work front, Arifin Shuvoo’s for two films—“Noor” and “Neelchakra”, are awaiting release.
